This image flooded social media yesterday.

And with it, came a wave of, for the most part,

opinion.

It was pretty discouraging to watch unfold, and quite honestly, especially among Christians.

So many terms were thrown out there: moral relativity, authority of scripture, mainstream, countercultural, moral absolutism, liberal, conservative, sellout, and then there have been a whole slew of hateful terms.

Here is where my mind goes::

What does God care about?

I am not talking about what we were raised to believe. I am not talking about that which has formed our values and perspectives based on the color of our skin, where we live, our gender, our education.

I mean, the God of ALL NATIONS…what does HE care about?

I’ll be honest, I can’t comment with integrity as to how He feels about the Marriage Equality Act as it goes before Senate in this country. He did not make any reference to it in the Bible, to my knowledge.

I do know that there are over 2000 references to justice in the Bible. So, I think it is pretty theologically safe to assume that He cares about justice for His sons and daughters.

I am not going to debate these issues. I refuse to get sucked into the pissing contest.

I will say this.

To ALL of my brothers and sisters for whom equality and justice have not been swift in coming, my heart and prayers are with you.

And I am SORRY if I have contributed by not holding hands with you and standing beside you.

Sometimes, words are not what are mostly needed when it comes to loving our neighbor, actions are.

From now on, I am in.

All in.

As God is my witness and the sole guide to whom I look on my life’s journey.
